Professional Pilot Program

If you want to fly helicopters for a living and have no previous flight experience, then this is the way to go. We know up front that you are going to go through the full program and work with you to plan ahead so that we maximize your time and minimize your costs. All American Helicopters has specially designed this program for new pilots who want make flying helicopters their career.

We offer our Private, Instrument and Commercial as Part 61 or Part 141. The main difference between the two training methods is that Part 141 is structured and follows an FAA approved syllabus, while Part 61 enables you more freedom in learning. Part 61 allows the instructor to tailor the sequence that best serves you. Part 141 requires that you follow a pre-determined, FAA approved curriculum.

The flight hours for Private and Instrument are comparable. The main difference in the Commercial Part 141 and Part 61 is that there are normally more solo hours required for Part 141. Many students prefer to take advantage of as many hours of dual instruction as they can to start preparation for their CFI and CFII during their Commercial training. This is your choice. Feel free to discuss this with us. We are here to assist you and answer your questions. This will enable you to select your best option, based on your priorities.

The Professional Pilot program takes approximately 6-8 months to complete if you fly full time. If you have a full-time job and choose to fly 3-4 times per week, this program will take about a year to complete. We will work with your schedule. Our professional Flight Instructors are here to make sure you succeed. Our best advertisement is a highly skilled pilot who is also a satisfied customer.

Please do read through the individual certificate/rating pages as well as they have additional information you may find useful.
