Want to be a Flight Instructor as a vocation? We have created a special Flight Instructor Program that emphasizes Fundamentals of Flight Instruction and Training maneuvers.

Want to learn to fly Helicopters for fun? Check out the Private Pilot program and the Instrument rating. Most of our pilots not seeking a commercial license fly their friends and family around. An Instrument rating gives you the edge and makes you a better pilot. What more precious cargo is there than family and friends?

Not sure? We recommend everyone start off with an Introductory Flight. This is also known as a Discovery flight. Try a 30 min flight for only $155! Your first lesson. Your first flight with you at the controls. We keep you safe while you have fun, fun, fun. There is no experience comparable to your first time flying the aircraft. The work comes later...

We are FAA approved to teach Private, Instrument and Commercial under Part 141 as well as Part 61. VA students are required to do their advanced Flight Training (Instrument and Commercial) under Part 141 if they want to use their benefits. International students are required to do all their Flight training under Part 141.

Part 141 and Part 61

Part 141 training means following a flight training curriculum that has been approved by the FAA. Our Chief Flight Instructor has to meet stringent requirements, including taking annual checkrides with the local FAA Examiner. Our helicopter flight school is subject to regular and random FAA inspections of school facilities, aircraft, student training records and instructor records. This means that our Flight School has to meet the highest possible standards in well maintained aircraft at all times. It also means that all of our students benefit from this, regardless of whether you choose to do Part 61 or Part 141 training.

In addition to meeting these high standards required by the FAA, All American Helicopters is approved to teach Veterans. Eligible VA students are reimbursed up to 60% of their flight training costs for any ratings after Private Pilot. Gene LaCoste, our Chief Pilot /Chief Flight Instructor served 33 years in the army. Gene and All American Helcicopters, LLC are proud to support those who have served and are currently serving their country. This additional approval subjects our Flight School to more inspections and regulations. Once again, all students benefit from the higher standards we maintain.

Please note that the same exams have to be passed, regardless of whether you are a Part 61 or Part 141 student. This includes the written, practical test as well as the oral on your checkride. The checkride is the same too. There is no differentiation made on your license that states whether you were a Part 61 or Part 141 student.

Private Pilot: This is for the new pilot. No prior experience is required.
Instrument Rating: This provides and IFR rating. This rating hones your Private Pilot skills and enables you to fly in 'not so perfect' weather conditions.
Commercial Pilot: This certication takes you to the next level. You are now able to charge for your services.
CFI: Certified Flight Instructor enables you to teach Private and Commercial students.
CFII: Certified Flight Instructor Instrument enables you to teach Instrument ratings.
ATP: This advanced rating is required by some employers.

Full time vs Part time training

We offer full time or part time training at our FAA certified flight training school. The choice is yours. Full time students typically fly every day and finish their ratings in a shorter time period than part time students. If you would like to fly full time, it will take you approximately 6-8 months to complete the Professional Pilot Program or the Flight Instructor Program.

Part time students typically have a full-time job and fly 3 times per week. If you choose to fly part time, it will take you approximately 9-12 months to complete the Professional Pilot Program or the Flight Instructor Program.
